5 Simple tips to change your diet and lifestyle

I know dieting isn’t easy.  In fact, lots of people dread it!  You don’t have to completely jump right into dieting when a few simple changes in your daily nutrition can make a big difference.  Here are some quick and easy tips that will get you jump started!

 

1) Eat 5-6 small meals.  I know you guys have heard this before but think of it this way.  Eat your regular Breakfast, lunch and dinner but and 2 snacks in between…there you go... 5 small meals! 

 

2) Make sure those meals are broken up evenly.  It’s easy to binge especially at night but breaking them up as close to even as possible allows your body the fuel it needs throughout the day and avoids sugar spikes and cravings.  Keep these meals as natural as possible and avoid pre-made and frozen meals.

 

3) Eat your carbohydrates earlier in the day or right after your workout.  The biggest myth is carbs are bad!  This isn’t necessarily true but timing is everything.  Eat your Carbs earlier in the day or right after your workout when your metabolism is at its highest!!

 

4) Drink lot’s of water!  In fact, water is a natural Thermogenic (fat burner).  Experts say that majority of people who over eat are simply dehydrated and mistaken hungry for thirst.  To avoid this, drink the recommend 2’3 Litres of water daily.   

 

5) Use the Window of Opportunity!  The window of opportunity is the 30 mins after your workout to replenish your ALL your macronutrients…yes that includes Protein, Carbs, and fats!  Now just because I say that…keep it balanced but don’t go too crazy!!!
